(While simple in appearance, the pocket is the most complex, time consuming and expensive part of manufacture, thus the difference in price). The main purpose of the pocket, other than to provide a contrasting colour, is that the pocket itself becomes a storage bag for the sling fabric once turned inside out, when not in use. You can use the pocketless Hugabub in all the same positions as the pocketed style. The pocket does offer a little bit more support for bigger babies, because of the double layer of fabric, but as long as you use the hugabub correctly, which is worn firmly tied, you will not have a problem. The pocketless carrier is cooler in hot climates and best suited for babies up to about 8 months or 10 kg, whereas the pocketed wrap will remain comfortable for up to 12 kg.
